Just as good as the official Brother printer ink, but without the high price. Definately reccomend it. Looks great on photos :)

I have been using these inks for 6 months now and have had no problem at all. I haven't used them for photo printing though so can't comment on that. But for general printing they have been fine! But they are a little tricky to put in the printer, it's like they are slightly smaller - be gentle putting them in and wiggle them a little.

My last order was 9 months ago for 40 cartridges. These cartridges are still printing with superb quality, after 9 months. I've now run out of black ink and decided these products were so good, that came through my purchase history to ensure I had the same supplier.

When you find a good supplier - don't lose them!

Having read the reviews for this product, I ordered with some doubt as my experience of these type of cartridges has not been great. I can now confirm that again, they are not great and will only buy genuine parts in future. the colour renditionis very poor and overall disappointing. Delivery was great and if you only want them for home and the family OK, but for my small business use, a waste of money.

The purchase of this printer was based on a decision to print my own A3 landscape plans created from a CAD package without having to resort to an outside source. This is my first Brother printer so was keen to write a short review.

1. Delivery was quick and faultless. Very impressed with Amazon overall on this aspect.

2. Product was fairly quick and easy to set up (30 minutes) and quite different from the HP process I have been used to. I found the quick setup guide not so good and referred in the end to the main manual, which was nice to see was in paper format.

3. B&W Printing: Despite some of the reviews concerning poor quality print, I was eager to see what the results were like. Some people who have had poor results either have very high standards or a faulty printer as I only had, IMHO, excellent results. Printing black only onto 190GSM coated paper, the first CAD drawing came out clear and crisp with small font (1mm) dimension labels easily discernible, with just a very small amount of bleeding. A lot of printing issues come down to poor quality paper.

4. Colour printing seemed fine, obviously not as good as some of the dedicated photo printers, but acceptable nonetheless.

5. For the price, with the ability to scan, copy and fax in A3 as well, it certainly gives value for money. Saying that, I would not call this a 'budget' printer either. The print quality is above average and hard to fault. However....If you are a photographer wanting high quality A3 prints then you may be expecting too much from this machine.

6. Construction is, hmmm...not as sturdy as I would like but I think they wanted to keep the weight down. Although okay for me as I treat things with respect, it may not be robust enough for heavy office work and indifferent staff. It does take up almost a desk of its own, but I certainly wouldn't get one if I lived in a studio flat.

7. Can't comment on the fax ability as I never use FAX but in the manual it says it can connect to both PBX and VOIP lines.

(Although I couldn't believe that some places still use FAX, a doctor in the NHS told me that FAX has to be used between departments in a hospital she works at as email is not accceptable!!!)

8. Cartridges as always are a rip-off, whatever way you look at it but there are cheap replacement non-branded out there so that can be an option. Although many people have had problems with the aftermarket continuous ink supply systems I think they are brilliant. I have two HP A4 printers running for the last two years on CISS systems and although a little tricky to install I have saved hundreds of £'s. I will update to a CISS system with this printer when the cartridges run out.

I will have to see how I get on with this printer and hope it gives me a few years service. Time will tell...However, for anyone printing 2D drawings from Sketchup, Autocad, Viseo and other design programs, I would highly recommend this printer if you are on a tight budget.

Did you know that HP with its Photosmart 7510 All-in-One with eFax Printer has hitched this printer to Apple's iOS 4.2 operating system so that not only will it work directly with your iPad or iPhone, but it can also work with your iPod, as well? If you have some videos uploaded all you have to do is bring your Apple device near the HP and the image you want to see and/or edit will appear in the four-by-six built-in display. Once you have made all the fixes you want, you can then easily either fax it along or you can print it out. Indeed, HP not only allows you about 1,000 black-and-white impressions, but you also have about 300 color impressions that range from 4 by 6 to a maximum of 8.5 by 11.5 which makes this device quite flexible.

That's pretty easy, isn't it? This is a nice, although older, version of today's more modern printers and it is a bit more flexible as it has more print modes available, including the ability to print directly from memory modules.

Still, is it work the extra money you'll spend on HP supportware? The answer is - it depends. It depends if you want the name HP and its reliability on your network or you are willing to settle for something else that's a little smaller and maybe a tad faster. The ultimate answer is up to you.

I'd used an Epson Stylus Color 3000 for some years (an earlier version of Epson A2 printer). When everything went right, it produced superb results for a printer of that era. The 3880 improves on it in most respects - physically smaller when all folded up, much improved interface that reduces the tendency to print landscape on portrait paper and vice versa, better colours and resolution, and borderless printing. Photo printing on Epson paper gives probably the best results that you're going to get from an inkjet. Photo printing on plain paper is poor, but that's not what this printer is made for (HP printers probably do best on plain paper).

The use of separate black inks for different paper types can be expensive - the printer wastes a lot of ink changing black cartridges, so it's best to stick to one type of paper unless you have a particular reason to change. Epson printers also have a reputation (which my 3000 lived up to) of suffering from head blockages. The 3880 hasn't had this problem yet, but it has fixed heads like the 3000, so may do eventually. However, if your priority is print quality for photos on photo paper, you won't beat this printer. I would strongly recommend using Epson paper with the printer - I've had disappointing results on other papers, and I would also recommend only using Epson inks (no, I don't work for them) to avoid head blockages.
